Mission& Objectives

Mission

The mission of EEA is to contribute to achieving the objectives of the European Lift Association (ELA) by providing a direct ‘vision’ from the industry.

In synergy with ELA, the Association:

  • represents its members vis-à-vis all public or private, national, EU or international organisations dealing directly or indirectly with issues on quality of materials and services;
  • participates in the elaboration of standards together with national, EU or international organisations responsible for defining such standards;
  • promotes information for, and continuing training of, installation, set-up and maintenance personnel;
  • follows developments at EU level that affect or are of interest to the members of the Grouping and informs such members of the same.

Objectives

EEA goals are to promote the quality and safety of equipment and services related to lifts, goods lifts, escalators, passenger conveyers and components, that are manufactured, installed or serviced in the enlarged EU and the European Free Trade Area (EFTA).

EEA has its own Legal and Budget Committees but also participates in all Committees and Working Groups established by the European Lift Association.

The Association is conceived as the contact platform where members can meet and learn about new European developments through international conventions, conferences and meetings.
